Artist's documents: photographs of Sackett Street studio, 1985-87
1943 - 1987
Christopher Wilmarth
American
1) Black-and-white photograph of Sackett St. studio with Gnomon's Parade (Front), 1980; Long Straight Stray, 1976; Susan Walked In, 1976; and Gnomon's Parade, 1978. The print is identical to the color slides from 1985 in CW2001.1729. On verso are Wilmarth's stamp and hand identifying the image as from his studio in 1985 as well as the stamp of photographer Jerry L. Thompson. In graphite along bottom edge are the words "MASTER PRINT" and an identificatory number presumably given by Thompson.
2) 8 color slides in a slipsheet of the above print (again, see CW2001.1729 for more slides of the same). One of the slides is labeled and lists the titles of the works pictured in graphite in what I believe is Wilmarth's hand.
3) 1 color slide identical to the above labeled with Wilmarth's name, location of the studio, and Thompson's name, but dated 1987, all in blue ink in Wilmarth's hand.
4) 3 large color transparencies of photographs taken in Sackett St. studio, presumably in 1987. 2 of them are the same shot of one corner showing a wallpiece, a floorpiece, scattered ladders, fragments of work, tools, a sweatshirt. The third transparency shows 5 blown glass pieces lined on fabric along the floor, perhaps as seen in Thompson's 1985 photograph in xerox in CW2001.1729. The first two transparencies are labeled "60 Sackett Street" with a white sticker in the lower right corner, probably in Wilmarth's hand, and all three bear his notations in the upper right corners as to quality of light and color in each print.
5) Lush, detailed black-and-white brochure from either 1987 or 1988 advertising the property of 60 Sackett Street for sale. The photograph on the front is Thompson's image of one end of the studio with Gnomon's Parade (Front) et al., as seen in this file and in CW2001.1729.
