Red Stone Sumerian Amulet Duck

Red Stone Sumerian Amulet Duck

Sumerian

Red stone amulet in the shape of a duck or similar bird-like figure. The amulet is marked just with an incised contour differentiating the body and the tail depressions on either side of the head for the eyes. The surface of the stone is smooth. Circular hole pierced through breast probably so that the amulet might be worn as a pendant. Amulet has been broken at the neck and repaired.
