The coin belongs to the Artuqid ruler of Mardin and Mayyafariqin (in present day Southeastern Turkey) who ruled between 1154-1176 (H. 548-572). Several Artuqid rulers used Byzantine and Hellensitik coin types. Obv.: Two, diademed male busts in profile, facing each other (Gemini). Dot or star between. Nashki script. Rev.: Virgin Mary crowning Byzantine emperor.
