Two Sections of an Arch
Coptic
Fragmentary architectural element, decorated in relatively high, flat relief. Continuous vine scroll. Tendrils intertwine and end with either vine leaves or grape clusters, alternately. Incision on vine and leaves for added decorative effect. Frieze bordered at bottom edge by a fillet in two facets, the upper narrower than the lower. Traces of circles, painted over a plaster coating, remain on grape clusters.
