Standing Nude Man
Greek
Incomplete figurine; missing both arms, and legs from just above the knee. Ornaments on head partly broken.
Standing man, nude. Head turned to right with worried expression. Short curly hair with two protruding ornaments; perhaps wings for a Hermes. Wrinkled forehead; pronounced brow; parted lips. Body curves slightly to right, with right leg engaged. Clasp of cloak on left shoulder. Lysippic proportions: elongated body, small head.
Would have been originally painted, now only traces of white ground are extant.
Hollow. Mold-made. No venthole.
Reddish-brown clay with small particles of mica. Hard-fired.
