Thinly potted, oval maiolica jardinière decorated in underglaze colours (gold, blue, green and black) with "raphaelesque" grotesques including birds, garlands and herm figures; medallions on each side with mythological standing figures. Resting on four molded feet in the form of serpent heads. Two molded, looped handles in the form of two entwined serpents. Marked underneath in underglaze blue.
