Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with a white ground layer. The fragment has a turn edge with strip of white canvas machine sewn at the selvedge edge. White ground extends to turn edge. Dark blue paint extends beyond turn edge at the narrow end. Lighter blue extends to turn edge, covering the dark blue entirely up to that point. The blue paint is brush applied with a taped edge. Note regarding acquisition stapled on unprimed area.
