Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a white ground layer. The fragment has a partial turn edge and a strip of white canvas fabric machine sewn to the selvedge edge. The white ground runs the length of the fragment up to the turn edge. Two layers of blue paint, with a taped edge, are applied along approximately half the width of the the area covered by white ground. The lower layer of blue paint, which is the darker of the two, extends about an inch beyond the turn edge. The upper, lighter blue paint layer extends just beyond the turn edge. A handwritten note on paper from Carol Mancusi-Ungaro with information regarding acquisitiom is stapled just above the selvedge edge.
