Partially Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a white ground layer. The fragment has two partial turn edges and tacking margins, which meet at a sharp angle suggesting that the fragment may have been cut from the corner of a triangular stretched canvas. The tacking margins have staple holes and one staple is still present. The white ground extends to the turn edge on one side and beyond it on the other. The white ground is partially covered by reddish orange paint. There is a dark rub at the turn edge on the side where the ground layer extends beyond the turn edge.
