Painted canvas fragment

Partially painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and no apparent ground layer. The fragment has dark red paint applied directly on the raw canvas. Matte paint strokes over glossy ones are applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. There are fibers stuck to glossy surface.
