Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a partial white ground layer with a taped edge. Dark red paint, with matte and glossy areas, is applied over the ground layer and a dry brush edge reveals the raw canvas beyond the taped edge of the white ground layer.
