Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with irregular knife cut edges and a partial white ground layer with a taped edge. Dark red paint is applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave over the partial white ground and the raw canvas, with dry brush edges.
