Painted canvas fragment

Partially painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges. Dark red paint is applied directly to the raw canvas with a dry brush. The fragment has a turn edge which runs diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. A tide line stain runs the length of the turn edge.
