Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a white ground layer. Dark red paint is applied over the white ground in two sections diagonally with respect to the canvas. Dry brush stroke margins between the two sections of red paint reveal the white ground below.
