Painted canvas fragment

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment knife cut edges. The fragment has a partial white ground layer with a taped edge. Red paint is applied with a dry brush over the white ground. Red paint is also applied, in two layers and with a dry brush edge, over the raw canvas.
