Attachment: Animal (Dog?)

Attachment: Animal (Dog?)

Chinese?

Attachment in the shape of a recumbant animal, likely a dog, with clearly rendered ribcage. The concave back has three prongs, probably the remains of loops, hooks, and/or a pin that served to attach the ornament to a surface, such as a belt, and were filed down in modern times. The thin, blackish patina is worn off on the prominent areas of the animal's head.
