Album Folio of Persian Poetry

The recto side of the folio features a text block that has been patterned with a stencil and splatter paint, to create a lattice of split leaves in reserve. Although this text block has not been ruled into vertical divisions, the couplets nevertheless align into three columns. The outer border is decorated with the paper technique of marbling; it carries a chevron pattern of many colors, including yellow, green, blue, purple, orange, and red.
