Two Handled Jug from Nuzi Room F18, late period Stratum

Two Handled Jug from Nuzi Room F18, late period Stratum

Sasanian

Small, fat-bellied jar with two shoulder handles and glazed exterior. Drips of glaze are visible on the interior of the neck. Although the exterior glaze has faded substantially, the interior drips retain bright patches of the original blue-green glaze. The interior ledge of the rim is indented, perhaps to facilitate pouring. The rim is surrounded by raised points. Additional raised points are set around the shoulder of the jug. The foot and ring base are largely unglazed.
