Scaraboid Engraved Gem with Seated Male Figure

Oval, carnelian scaraboid (intaglio gem in the shape of a beetle); flat face; seated male. This gem depicts a seated, nude male facing right. His muscled figure is indicated in a schematic form, similar in appearance to the a globolo style. The beetle is simple with the spine indicated by a single line and hatched wings.
