Five Sections of an Architectural Frieze
Coptic
Architectural frieze decorated in relatively high relief. Continuous vine scroll forms a series of figure-eights. Foliage springs from above and below points of intersection of vine tendrils. The almond-shaped loops of the scroll form frames, within which are back-to-back acanthus leaves and fruit clusters. Frieze bordered at bottom edge by a fillet in two facets, the upper narrower than the lower.
