Probably sleeve apparels from a dalmatic (liturgical garment worn by a deacon) appliquéd onto blue silk cut velvet. Embroidered with cartouche initials flanked by foliage arabesques containing birds and flowers in silver and gilt metallic threads. Shading done with paint. Stitches include chain, split and couching. Appliqués of yellow silk; red silk satin; white damask (abraded).
