Deer in a Wood (fragment)

Deer in a Wood (fragment)

Indian

This fragmented drawing partially depicts a large gazebo at the bottom surrounded by trees and palm trees. Two cranes can be found in the trees. The top portion features a wooded area. A male deer with large antlers runs as he looks back to a female deer. At the very top is a group of seated female deer. On the left are two running hounds, suggesting that a hunt is taking place. Rajput style, Kota school.
