Female Figure Prostrate Before a Fire

Female Figure Prostrate Before a Fire

Mughal

Under a moonlit sky, a young female figure prostrates herself in front of a fire. She supports herself on her elbows, her hands clasped in front of her. She wears a translucent shawl with gold trim that covered her entire body, a chaniya choli, which consists of a crop top and a long skirt, armlets, bracelets, and anklets. Near her is a tray with two small bowls, a plate, a lotus flower-shaped bowl, and a flask. In the background are two large architectural structures. The one on the right, with a dome chamber and tall towers, resembles a mosque. Provincial, late Mughal style.
