Typical Ersari Ensi (tent door hanging) with cruciform design divided the pile area into quadrants; 4 trefoils in each of these quadrants. Alem end is tapestry woven, striped. Probably southern Ersari.
Warps: 2 Z spun S plied undyed mixture of brown and white wool (coarse and hairy); one level. Weft (between knots): 1 Z spun undyed brown wool warn; 2 yarns per shoot. Weft (at alem/bottom end/tapestry weave): 2 Z spun S plied wool (same as pile yarn) in red, green, blue, undyed brown and undyed white. Pile: 2 Z spun S plied wool. Pile colors: dark blue, light blue, red, yellow, brown, white and dark green. Knots: asymmetrical, open to the right. Knots per vertical decimeter: 40. Knots per horizontal decimeter: 25. Both selvedges: wide, flat, 4 bundles of 2 warps each wrapped in what appears to be 2 Z spun S plied brown goat hair. Top end: 5 1/2 cm. tapestry weave with top two cm. folded over and stitched. Bottom end (alem): 17 cm. tapestry weave, stripped, with colored stripes.
