New Year Print of Animals in Three Pairs: Qilin and Lion, Horse and Deer, and a Pair of Roosters

Woodblock print; ink and color on paper; with printed inscription for the qilin and lion reading: "Bi E Qilin, Zhen Zhai Shizi" ("Qilin Wards Off Evil Spirits; Lion Guards the House"), printed inscription on horseback: "Fu" ("Good Fortune") and on deer's back "Lu" (Emoluments), and printed inscription "Sheng Ji" ("Roosters"). Probably from Lingbao, Henan.
