Tomb Furnishing in the Form of a Granary

This piece is a hollow, ceramic model of a granary. The building represented is a small rectangular one with a tiled, gabled roof supported on posts and with a ridge pole. Front is articulated with incised lines to simulate the front of a building, with a central door flanked by a window on either side. Chinese characters for numbers 1 to 5 appear on the door in ascending order from bottom to top. One small hole in back for air to escape during firing. The base is flat and unglazed.
