Solidus of Theodosius II, Constantinople

Obverse: Helmeted bust, pearl-diademed, cuirassed, spear in r. hand held over r. shoulder behind head, on l. arm decorated shield. Reverse: Theodosius enthroned l. and Valentinian standing r. facing, both in consular costume and holding mappa and cruciform scepter. Above and between them, a star. CONOB in exergue.
