Pyxis with Putti in Relief

Roman

Carved bone cylindrical pyxis (box) and fragmentary lid. The exterior of the pyxis is carved to represent two running erotes or putti with wings. One holds a mask, the other carries a rod. The interior of the pyxis is smooth. The body is cracked, and much of the lid is lost.
