Tetradrachm of Himera

Obv. of 1.1965.615 (late state). IMERAION (retrograde; obliterated and partly off flan) in exergue. Quadriga driven by male charioteer crowned by Nike; in front of the horses, grafitto (Phi). Border of dots. Rev.: Nymph Himera standing l. pouring a libation on an altar from a patera in r. hand; to l., altar; to r., grain ear and small satyr standing in the basin, bending backward to receive water from fountain in shape of a lion's head.
