Small globular tripod censer

Chinese

Small tripod incense burner with globular body, three clawed cabriole legs, and cabochon jewel decoration around the shoulders; pinkish white earthenware with lead-fluxed cobalt-blue, copper-green, and clear glazes over a white slip ground and applique decoration on the exterior, and with lead-fluxed pale yellow glaze on the interior; underside of vessel and feet unglazed. Sancai ware. From northern China, Henan, Hebei, or Shaanxi province.
