Globular jar with flared mouth, cylindrical neck, globular body, lower portion of body tapering inward to a countersunk base, and two loop supports for simulated ring handles on the shoulders; three horizontal ridged borders encircle the shoulders, creating wide horizontal friezes with decoration of stylized animals and scrolling clouds; light gray stoneware with thin natural ash glaze over top portion of vessel, the lower half and base unglazed. One of a pair with 2006.270.208.

Samples taken from the base of this vessel were thermoluminescence (TL) tested at Oxford Authentication Ltd. in September 1999 and determined to be consistent with the suggested period of manufacture.
