Obv.: Virgin nimbate, wearing tunic and maphorion, seated upon throne with back; holds beardless, nimbate head of Christ on breast. Rev.: Full-length figure of ruler on l., and of archangel Michael nimbate, holding between them labarum on long shaft. Emperor wears stemma, divitsion, collar-piece, and paneled loros of simplified type. Archangel wears short tunic and (sagion?) held wrapped around him.
