Obv.: Bust of Christ Emmanuel, beardless and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion; holds scroll in l. hand, X with 4 pellets in gaps and in 1 at intersection in each limb of nimbus cross. Rev.: Full-length figure of emperor on l., and of St. Demetrius, beardless and nimbate, holding between them cross-within circle, surmounting triangular decoration on long shaft. Emperor wears stemma, divitsion, and chlamys. Saint wears short military tunic, breastplate and sagion; holds sword in l. hand, resting over shoulder.
