Cylinder Seal with Two Worshippers and Deity
Neo-Assyrian
Two worshippers stand in front of a standing, beardless deity in a long, open-fronted robe. Both worshippers wear long robes. The worshipper in front has his right hand raised and his left hand outstretched with palm upward. The second worshipper raises both hands upward. Various symbols are arranged one above each other behind the deity. From top to bottom they are: a winged disk, a fish lying horizontally with a rhomboid symbol, a quadruped with curved horns crouching beside an eight-pointed star. Between the two worshippers there is a low platform with the spade symbol of Marduk ardorned with ribbons, and a star above in the field.
