Ushabti

Ushabti

Egyptian

This small Egyptian faience ushabti is a mummiform figure with arms crossed over the abdomen. A single line of hieroglyphic text detailed in a black glaze runs along the front of the figure from below the neck down the length of the figurine. Facial features are also indicated in a black glaze. The figure is broken at the base and has been dowelled to a wood block. The figure's color is more blue on the backside, while the front has dulled in color and is stained from handling.
