East and Beyond with Orange

1973–74

Helen Frankenthaler (American, 1928-2011) printed by Bill Goldston (American, born 1943), Juda Rosenberg (American), and James Smith (American) published by Universal Limited Art Editions (American, founded 1955)

United States

Frankenthaler was not entirely happy with the registration on several impressions of East and Beyond and had them withheld from the published edition. She returned to Universal Limited Art Editions (U.L.A.E.) a year later and found that a small touch of orange crayon solved the problem. Satisfied, she published them as East and Beyond with Orange.
