Stater (Coin) Depicting Caulos and Deer

480-388 BCE

Greek; Caulonia, Italy

Caulonia

The front of this coin possibly depicts Caulos (the eponymous hero and founder of the town of Caulonia and son of the Amazon Clita) walking right alongside a small deer.

On the back a larger deer is surrounded by an inscription.
