Jutta Sika was one of a number of women who trained at Vienna’s progressive Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Applied Arts) at the turn of the 20th century. She created this service while a student of Koloman Moser, a member of the Vienna Seccession and one of the founders of the Wiener Werkstätte.
This service was produced from 1901 in blue, orange, and green colorways. The stenciled decoration of intersecting and free-floating circles are echoed by the circles piercing the various handles and the coffee pot’s spout.
