Man Holding a Sheep, Flutist, and Heads

January 11–12, 1967

Pablo Picasso Spanish, 1881-1973

Spain

Picasso’s late work often included images of musicians and self-portraits. This crayon drawing likely depicts the artist himself, holding a sheep, with a young boy playing a flute. At the time, Picasso owned a number of animals, including a pet goat.
