Tart Mold Ring

13th century

French

France

Inspired by this shape’s resemblance to a pastry, English collectors in the nineteenth century named it tart mold ring. The pyramid-shaped bezel (setting) is embedded with a central stone that was cut to extend the ring’s geometric form.
