Miyoko Ito American, 1918–1983

United States

Trained as a watercolorist, Ito embraced organic abstraction, basing her work in nature while maintaining a connection to the fantastic. Celebrated for her subtle palette and precisely painted surfaces, Ito would continue working in abstraction for the remainder of her career.
