Bright Light Table Lamp

Founded in 1935 by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, Artek has been one of the most innovative contributors to modern design. For its White collection, Artek’s design director, Ville Kokkonen, carried forth the company’s original mission of merging the arts and technology to improve everyday life. Part of the White collection, Kokkonen’s Bright Light Table Lamp is a certified bright light therapy lamp. It mimics the brightness and color temperature of daylight to offer users an alternative treatment for mood- and sleep-related ailments. The minimalist design was intended to capture the atmospheric effect of soft white light, rather than emphasize the color or form of the lamp itself. In a visually overcrowded environment, Kokkonen’s design provides a fresh perspective on how we perceive lighting.
