At first glance, this kimono displays a purely modern abstract aesthetic with a painterly background and motifs stylized to the point that they are difficult to identify. The motifs appear to be bamboo fishing poles with their lines wrapping around the poles and ending in a feathered lure. The red circles represent glass fishing floats or buoys. Additionally, the treatment of the background gives the impression of rippling water.
