Marie Antoinette

1777

Jean-François Janinet (French, 1752-1814) After Jean-Baptiste-André Gautier D’Agoty (French, 1740–1786)

France

Very probably this rare print never appeared in a large edition not only because of the complicated procedure involved in its making, but also because the process was illegally borrowed from Jacques Fabien Gautier Dagoty, who received a royal license for the technique.
