A work made of woven in one piece (hikikaeshi); mon side: silk, plain weave self-patterned by bands of gauze crossings (yoko ro); stenciled and resist dyed (yûzenzome: hikizome); patterned side: silk, plain weave self-patterned by bands of gauze crossings (yoko ro); stenciled and resist dyed, (yûzenzome: utsushinori yûzenzome) painted with india ink (sumi) and dye; embroidered with silk and gold-leaf-on-paper-strip wrapped silk in chinese knot, satin, stem and straight stitches; laidwork and couching; silk, running "controlling" stitches along all edges; corner: silk, knotted, re-plied fringe tassels.
