Hemidrachm (Coin) Depicting a Lion

Greek; minted in Chersonesus

Roman Empire

The front (obverse) of this coin depicts the forepart of a lion, leaping right with head turned back and mouth open. The back (reverse) shows a 4 part square, with alternate quarters incused. In one, a dot and an E appear while in the other, an insect.
