Ronald Jones American, born 1952

United States

This print is one of a pair that Jones made, using as the printing matrix (wood block), a collapse board from Walla Walla (Washington) prison. Prior to execution, prisoners condemned to death by hanging are strapped to a collapse board to prevent their crumpling at the knees or losing "intestinal fortitude."
